Mary Beach is a professional Actress/Storyteller and Childrens Theater Instructor.
She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Drama at San Diego State University.
Mary started out as a dancer of ballet, jazz, tap, and musical theater, but was bitten
by the acting bug when she took her first acting class in college and went on to perform
in many drama, comedy, and musical theater productions. She has appeared in television
commercials and films. She is also a working voice over artist for childrens audio tapes, local
commercials, and in house training audio videos. You may have seen her over the past ten years as
the Sparkle Fairy

, Mary Poppins
, Cruella Deville
, or many other
characters at city events, libraries, conventions, and the Four Season Resorts at the Childrens
Teas. She loves to work with children, seeing how important acting can be for their self
confidence, self-esteem, and using their ever wonderful imaginations! Her childrens
theater groups have been thriving and successful for the past 15 years, starting out
in Las Vegas. She is a proud mom of her nine year-old daughter, Autumn, who is also an actress.
Her husband Charles helps in the business and as stage manager. She is very fortunate
to have her wonderful family helping her with the childrens theater classes.

I like to convey to the parents and actors that I take my job seriously as far as teaching the students what I have learned as a professional actor. We only get to meet once a week so our production rehearsal time may not be like other local theater companies who have busy rehearsal schedules. My classes work well with actors who want to learn or keep developing the craft of acting but have busy school schedules or other extra curricular activities. I like to help these children to keep developing and using their creativity and imagination. This can tend to be repressed as they get older. I find it is a lovely thing to be uninhibited and let the inner child out always. I consider teaching these gifted children an honor and cherish every second of it!
Mary Beach has three wonderful assistants, Emily, Madison, and Talon.

Hello, my name is Emily. I work with Mary Beach as an assistant for the childrens acting classes and have been doing so for about 6 1/2 years now. Before I became an assistant acting teacher I took the acting classes from Mary Beach myself. From a very young age, my one true goal in life was to become an actress and singer. Since then, some things have changed, however, theater remains a very important part of my life. I began acting lessons with Mary when I was 8 years old at the YMCA in Encinitas and had a blast. Those experiences were ones that will stay with me for the rest of my life. I remember the productions we did and the friendships I made and most of all, the confidence that I gained from the classes. I have always been a quiet and shy person, but the theater has become a sort of safe-zone for me where I am comfortable with myself and with my speaking skills. I absolutely love working with the kids and seeing them grow more and more comfortable with acting and being on stage. My favorite part of my job is watching these kids succeed as young actors. I know this session will be action packed and full of new and exciting activities and challenges.

Madison Oss is the second of Mrs. Beachs assistants, and loves her job. This is her third year working with Mary, and she enjoys it more and more as time goes on. She was a temporary replacement at first, and ended up taking the job full time a couple of years ago. Madison really cherishes all her time with the children, Mary, Emily, and Talon. She currently is in high school attending Guajome Park Academy, a performing arts school. In her spare time she enjoys experimenting with photography and playing music.
Talon Thrasher is an assistant to Mrs. Beach and is looking forward to his second year of assisting. The children absolutely love him, and learn so much from him. He definitely teaches the actors how to do comedy, and he makes them laugh! If they have to do something serious, he helps them with their focus and will demonstrate to them and help them feel comfortable. Talon is a junior in High School, and is also taking a film class at Mira Costa College. He started acting with Mrs. Beach when he was six, and went on to travel with her appearing as different characters in Mrs. Beach< >s one woman shows for the city. He has also appeared in numerous productions. Mrs. Beach remembers him fondly as Rollo the Prince's quirky assistant in
Cinderella. Talon also loves talking about movies. He know everything about film. He lives in Leucadia, and also enjoys vacationing with his family and living life!
